Recreational fishing of sea trout in the Baltic Sea, has a potential of providing sustainable opportunities. RETROUT aims to showcase destinations for recreational coastal fishing and advise on relevant policy regulations. It proposes solutions for efficient restoration of the sea trout stock in order to boost the coastal fishing tourism. The project is a joint venture with 14 partners and 28 associate organisations in six countries within the Interreg programme Baltic Sea Region and funded by the European Regional Developmental Fund. Additional funding is received from the Swedish Agency for Water and Marine Management and the Estonian Environmental Investment Centre.
